Brexit reviewed: Process, Consequences and Scenarios
11 April 2019 @ 18:00 - 20:00
Almost three years after Britain’s referendum on its withdrawal from the European Union, the Brexit process is more uncertain than ever. As the British parliament, and entire party system, remain deadlocked, the broader public debate is increasingly turning to fundamental questions about Brexit’s implications for the stability and democracy of the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, EU partners are torn between their irritation towards Theresa May’s inconclusive government and their desire to avoid a traumatic epilogue to the Brexit saga. In this chaos, many important questions remain wide open: what form will Brexit eventually take? What repercussions will it have on British politics and institutions? Finally, how will it affect the future of the European integration process?
The event is organized by RUG’s Chair of European Politics & Society, in the context the H2020 project EU IDEA.
